Questions about Dual Processor Systems...
All I know is with a 1gig now, some steps in 3D modeling and rendering take me 20-40 minutes of 100% processor drain. Quite a waste of time if after you find you made the part wrong. If I had the bucks, I'd get dual 3Gigs. "wazzzy" <waz...@hotmail.com> wrote in message Don't look now, retard, but your available RAM

It looks like the fan sits on top of the processor, and I'm not sure how to remove either one. Also, are there any other procedures or concerns I should be aware of in changing the motherboard? Please explain as if you were explaining to someone with very minimal experience (that's me!). THANKS!

We payed a lot of money for additional processors and get nothing back by them(*) cause of the OS. It's better to run a novell server with only one processor. Unless you're really pushing the Novell server, it only needs one processor. I have a server with two internal network adapaters.

Does this pretty much eliminate the need for handcoded assembler on these processors to gain significant amounts of performance, and with a good enough compiler, is it possible that code written in a higher-level language can be just as fast or at least nearly (within 10%) as fast as handwritten assembler
